Atlantic Princess Wreck
The Atlantic Princess is one of those places that always brings a smile to our faces. This former passenger ship rests in the crystal-clear waters of Bayahibe and has become a must-visit, both for those of us who love diving and for naval history enthusiasts.
Built in 1973, it was intentionally sunk for recreational purposes. But don't worry! Before sinking, it was thoroughly cleaned, and all sharp edges or dangerous parts were removed. As a fun fact, it was originally sunk in a deeper area, but the sheer force of a massive storm moved it to its current location.
Thanks to this whim of nature, today it rests at a depth of about 12 meters. This makes it perfect and completely accessible for divers of all levels. It is a super bright dive and, without a doubt, an excellent and relaxed introduction to the world of wreck diving.
At over 35 meters long with wide doors and windows, it gives us the chance to take a very comfortable swim through its structure, allowing for super safe swim-throughs and even the opportunity to peek into the old engine room.
